Coastline Experience
Coastline Physical Therapy specializes in the treatment of common musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Hollan Oliver and her team provide fast and effective treatment to help you move, feel, and perform better! Coastline offers one-on-one, individualized treatment sessions, with a focus on hands-on manual therapy.
Appointments may consist of joint mobilization and manipulation, myofascial release, trigger point release, deep tissue massage, soft tissue mobilization, and more. We also incorporate neuromuscular re-education to prevent injuries from returning in the future.
The goal is to quickly identify the cause of your symptoms and apply manual therapy techniques to resolve your pain, improve your health, and get you back to doing the activities you want, as soon as possible.
Our comprehensive approach can diagnose almost any ailment and bring you relief. Not sure if physical therapy is the right solution to your problem? We are!
What to know before your first PT appointment.
Do you take insurance?
Coastline is an out-of-network provider. We believe that insurance-driven physical therapy can often lead to double book appointments, less time with your therapist, limited service options, even the denial of treatment. We prefer to tailor a care plan that best suites your needs, with maximum flexibility and without third party limitations.
Can my insurance company reimburse my visit?
Maybe! If you call your insurance company and ask “what are my out-of-network physical therapy benefits?” you may be eligible to receive a partial reimbursement directly from your insurance company. Coastline will provide you with a bill containing all the necessary information you’d need to submit.
Do you require a referral from my doctor?
No! Maine is a “direct access” state, meaning a prescription of a referral is not required. This eliminates extra steps, such as waiting for a doctor’s office visit, allowing the patient to begin treatment faster. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
What should I expect from my first visit?
During an initial evaluation, we will address your whole body, not just the part that hurts or is injured. The goal is to develop a comprehensive plan of care, that gets you feeling better ASAP. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork, dressed in loose, comfortable clothing.

Shockwave Therapy (EPAT)
Shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic pressure waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. This therapy is effective for treating chronic pain and various musculoskeletal conditions by enhancing blood circulation and promoting the regeneration of damaged tissues. Patients can experience pain relief and improved mobility without the need for surgery or prolonged recovery times.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a specialized technique used by physical and occupational therapists to alleviate pain and muscle tension. It involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into trigger points within the muscles to stimulate a healing response. This method can help reduce muscle tightness, improve blood flow, and promote overall tissue health. For those suffering from chronic pain or muscle dysfunction, dry needling offers a targeted approach to relief and recovery.
